The classic Monogram Canvas has been Louis Vuitton's trademark design since it was first introduced in 1896. The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior coated canvas is clean and beautiful, but has light wear at the bottom corners and some creasing throughout. The leather trim has turned a dark honey patina with some wear, soiling and water spots throughout. The leather side tabs have rubbing, wear and soiling. The goldtone hardware has surface scratches and flaking. The strap has heavy creasing and the canvas has begun to come unglued on the underside near the brass side rings. The interior leather is clean and in good condition with a few small pen marks in both compartments and a light musky odor.
