The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful, but the bottom corner edges have wear. The leather has developed a light honey patina, but there are some faint water spots present. Throughout the leather trim there are signs of rubbing and creasing, as well as fading to the glazing. The handles have overall wear and at the tops they've started to show faint soiling. The shoulder strap has minor wear throughout and the underside also has faint soiling. The goldtone hardware has surface scratches, but is still bright. The interior is clean and in good condition, but there is a notable perfume scent present.
