The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful with a few minor scuff marks at the base. There are signs of wear to the bottom corners and the leather trim and handles have turned a nice medium honey patina. The underside of the handles have darkened and are creasing from wear. There are wear marks to the leather trim on the sides of the bag and the hardware has surface scratches. The interior has two ink marks at the base but overall is clean and in great condition.
