The classic rounded shape with two straps is supposed to take the form and spirit of the butterfly (Papillon). It was originally designed by Henri Vuitton in 1966 and has become one of most endearing bags of Louis Vuitton's collection. Retail price is $700.
The classic Monogram Canvas has been Louis Vuitton's trademark design since it was first introduced in 1896. The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful, but along the edges there is wear. The leather has developed a honey patina with water spots throughout. The leather piping and the leather trim has wear throughout. The handles have allover wear and the tops have started to darken as well as develop a waxy texture from being held. The goldtone hardware has surface scratches and flaking. The interior has scuff marks and overall there is a slight musk odor, but it is otherwise clean and still in good condition.
