The classic rounded shape with two straps is supposed to take the form and spirit of the butterfly (Papillon). It was originally designed by Henri Vuitton in 1966 and has become one of most endearing bags of Louis Vuitton's collection. Retail price is $1180. The classic Monogram Canvas has been Louis Vuitton's trademark design since it was first introduced in 1896. The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful, but along the edges of the bag there is slight wear. The leather has developed a warm honey patina, but overall there are faint water spots. The leather piping overall has wear. The leather trim on the bag has creasing. The handles have overall creasing and the tops have slightly darkened from being held. The goldtone hardware has surface scratches. The interior has a perfume scent, but otherwise is clean and still in good condition.
