The classic rounded shape with two straps is supposed to take the form and spirit of the butterfly (Papillon). It was originally designed by Henri Vuitton in 1966 and has become one of most endearing bags of Louis Vuitton's collection. This particular Papillon is the older model that features dark leather trimmings instead of the modern day vachetta leather handles. This bag also includes a detachable matching accessory pouch that can also be hooked inside or out. Retail price is $1220.

The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful with slight scuffing at the bottom edges of the bag. Furthermore, the canvas has minor creasing. The leather trim has minor creasing. The leather trim at the base of the handles has light wear. The handles have creasing and some minor scuff marks, visible upon a close inspection. The goldtone hardware has surface scratches and flaking. The interior is clean and in good condition.
