The classic rounded shape with two straps is supposed to take the form and spirit of the butterfly (Papillon). It was originally designed by Henri Vuitton in 1966 and has become one of most endearing bags of Louis Vuitton's collection. This bag also includes a detachable matching accessory pouch that can also be hooked inside or out. For the older style Papillon 30, the originally retail price was $1180. Current retail price for the NM Papillon is $1220.
The classic Monogram Canvas has been Louis Vuitton's trademark design since it was first introduced in 1896. The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful throughout, but there is slight creasing present. The leather has developed a light patina overall. Throughout the leather trim on the bag there are faint signs of rubbing as well as creasing. The handles also have overall creasing and minor wear. The goldtone hardware has surface scratches, but is still bright. The interior is clean and in excellent condition.
