The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful throughout with only several minor scuff marks. The leather has developed a light patina, but overall the leather trim and handles have signs of wear and scuffing. Furthermore, in some areas of the leather there is faint soiling (please refer to photos). The underside of the retractable handle has slight discoloring from being held. The skid pads and wheels have wear and some heavy surface scratches, as well as several white scuff marks (please refer to photos). The goldtone hardware has surface scratches, but is still bright. The interior is clean and has no signs of wear. Overall, this suitcase is still in excellent condition.
