The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful, but upon a very close inspection there are some minor scuff marks. The piping overall has scuffing. The rubber anti-skid pads have wear. The leather has developed a light patina, but water spots are present throughout. The leather handles have started to discolor and show wear. The underside of the retractable handle has soiling. The goldtone hardware has surface scratches, but is still bright. The interior is clean and in good condition with only faint spots to the lining.
