The classic Monogram Canvas has been Louis Vuitton's trademark design since it was first introduced in 1896. The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful, but there is light creasing to the sides. The base of the bag has wear to the canvas along the edges. The leather has developed a caramel patina with heavy overall water spots. The leather trim overall has wear, but along the top of the bag the leather trim has darkened. The handles have overall creasing and wear with very slight darkening at the tops. The goldtone hardware has darkened and has surface scratches. The interior lining has some pen marks and the leather trim has lightly started to fray, but otherwise the interior is clean and still in overall good condition.
