The classic Monogram Canvas has been Louis Vuitton's trademark design since it was first introduced in 1896. The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas show white scuffing and light creasing as well as wear and rubbing at the bottom corners. The leather has developed a honey patina with water spots, creasing, and light soiling. The leather trim overall has creasing and wear. The handles have wear, softening, creasing, darkening at the tops, a few oil stains, and the glazing has worn down. The goldtone hardware has surface scratches throughout. The interior has some fading, faint soiling, some faint stains, scuffing, rubbing, and a musky odor, but otherwise clean and in good condition.
