The classic Monogram Canvas has been Louis Vuitton's trademark design since it was first introduced in 1896. The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful, with there is slight creasing overall, as well as minor wear to the bottom corner edges. The leather has developed a honey patina, but has soiling and water spots throughout. The flap top buckle straps show creasing and wear (please see photos). The leather trim on the flap tops show wear also (please see photos). The shoulder strap has creasing overall with light wear, particularly along the red glazing. The goldtone hardware has surface scratches. The interior has some spots throughout along with slight fading to the lining of the flap top, but otherwise is clean and in great condition (please see photos).
