The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful, but there is minor wear in the bottom corner edges. The leather has developed a honey patina, but overall there are water spots. The leather trim on the bag has heavy creasing and the leather side tabs have started to curl. The handles have overall wear as well as darkening and have soiling. The goldtone hardware has surface scratches and is starting to tarnish. The interior is clean and in good condition.
