The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful, but there is slight wear in the bottom corner edges. The leather has developed a light patina, but overall water spots are present. The leather piping on the bag has signs of rubbing throughout. The handles have started to darken very slightly as well as show signs of wear from being held. The shoulder strap has minor wear throughout as well as some indentations from the buckles resting on the leather. The goldtone hardware has surface scratches, but is still bright. The interior has a faint musk scent, as well as a small pen mark at the base, but otherwise it is clean and still in great condition.
