The classic Monogram Canvas has been Louis Vuitton's trademark design since it was first introduced in 1896. The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful, but the bottom corner edges have light wear. The metal feet have fading. The leather has developed a caramel patina with overall water spots. Throughout the leather trim there is creasing, signs of wear, rubbing, and some oil stains. The handles have overall wear and creasing, while the tops have developed a waxy texture from being held. The goldtone hardware has surface scratches. The interior has light fading, some pen marks, and faint stains, but otherwise is clean and is still in good condition.
