The classic Monogram Canvas has been Louis Vuitton's trademark design since it was first introduced in 1896. The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful, but there is slight wear in the bottom corner edges. The leather has developed a light honey patina with water spots throughout. The leather trim has rubbing, wear, and soiling, especially at the bottom corners. The handles have overall creasing as well as wear and faint soiling with wear and cracking to the glazing. The leather flap has hairline scratches throughout. The goldtone hardware has surface scratches and minor fading. The interior lining has some soiling and faint stains, but otherwise is clean and still in good condition.
