The classic Monogram Canvas has been Louis Vuitton's trademark design since it was first introduced in 1896. The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful, but along the edges there are light signs of fading. The edges of the flap top are curled. The leather has developed an uneven honey patina with water spots present. The leather overall has wear, while the shoulder strap has creasing as well as a marking from the buckle resting on the leather. The front buckle strap on the bag has darkened, heavy wear, and developed a waxy texture from normal use. The goldtone hardware has flaking and surface scratches. The interior is clean and in good condition, but shows some light staining, a perfume scent, and some faint spots.
