The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful, but there is minor wear at the bottom corner edges. The metal feet have minor fading. The leather has developed a light honey patina and overall, but there are faint water spots throughout. The leather trim along the top of the bag has some wear, scuffing, and rubbing. The leather piping has minor wear and rubbing, especially at the bottom corners. The base of the handles has creasing and there are markings from the buckles resting on the leather. The handles have slight darkening and wear from being held. The goldtone hardware has surface scratches, but is still bright. The interior is clean and in good condition with only some faint spots throughout, a dark stain, and a faint perfume scent.
