The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior coated canvas is clean and beautiful. The leather strap and trim have turned a dark honey patina with heavy wear along the side piping and noticeable water stains throughout the leather trim. The leather strap has some creasing and weather stains. The edges of the strap show wear and the goldtone hardware ahs flaking and surface scratches. The interior leather is clean and overall in good condition with no peeling to the interior pockets.
