The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior coated canvas is clean and beautiful throughout. The leather trim and handle have developed a rich, medium honey patina with light signs of wear along the upper edge and to the strap. The leather strap and trim show light creasing. The hardware is bright and clean but have visible surface scratches, especially to the turn lock on the front. The interior lining is clean but has light wear throughout, and a slight floral scent. Overall the bag is in good condition.
