The classic Monogram Canvas has been Louis Vuitton's trademark design since it was first introduced in 1896. The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented.

The exterior canvas is generally clean and in good condition. The leather trimmings around the bag are faded and are splitting at the bottom corners. The leather at the rear flap fold at the top are split as well. The leather is noticeably soiled throughout the bag. The long strap has noticeable signs of wear and the top handle has darkened on the underside. The edges of the top handle are splitting as well. The hardware is tarnished and flaking throughout. The interior lining has fading and general signs of wear throughout, but has been cleaned and is still in great condition. The leather at the flap edges are split as well (refer to photos). Overall this bag has been well loved but is still in excellent condition.
